Wood energy supply chain courses, COFORD, Ireland

These two day courses were developed on behest of COFORD in Ireland and have since been held in Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. The courses include a general introduction in wood for energy, classification of sources of wood fuel, classification of quality aspects based on modern European standards, the conversion of units (m3 solid, m3 loose volume, ton, GJ, kWh all dependent on moisture content), introduction of harvesting and transport systems, introduction of boiler systems. So far 43 course days have been held.

Development of the courses, writing of the course materials, adaptation to local circumstances of the course materials and presenting the courses. Translating course materials from English to dutch.
